Vocations Awareness Week 2014: Sr Melissa Anne

Vocations Awareness Week 2014: Sr Melissa Anne
A time of learning and discerning.

Catholic Outlook August 2014 Vocations Awareness Week: Sr Melissa Anne reflects on her time in the novitiate with the Sisters of Nazareth

Hello from London. I am currently in the Mother House of the Sisters of Nazareth in Hammersmith in my second year of the novitiate.

The first year was a spiritual year and I spent the year deepening my relationship with God while also learning about the Church, religious life, the Sisters and much more.

It was a precious time and with the help of my novice director I continued to discern my vocation to determine what God was asking of me.

In this second year I am given more of an opportunity to learn about the different ministries the Sisters are involved in and take more of an active role within these ministries. It is still a time of learning and discerning.

Throughout the second year I ventured out to two branch houses, Cardiff and Lancaster, to join the communities for two months. It was a great experience. It allowed me to take part in the prayer life, community life and also the apostolate life.
