In bioethics, Pope Benedict returned to foundations: Bishop Anthony
Catholic News Service interviewed the Bishop of Parramatta, Most Rev Anthony Fisher OP, on Pope Benedict’s teachings on bioethics, during the plenary meeting of the Pontifical Academy for Life in Rome (21-23 February).
Approximately 120 members of the Pontifical Academy of Life gathered in Rome for the academy’s 19th annual general assembly, where Bishop Anthony was among the speakers.
Other speakers and moderators included Archbishop Gerhard Ludwig Müller, prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith; Richard Doerflinger of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops; Father Shenan Boquet of Human Life International; and John Haas of the National Catholic Bioethics Center.
