‘Real care, love and compassion – the alternative to euthanasia’ brochure released
Real care, love and compassion – the alternative to euthanasia brochure has recently been developed by the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference (ACBC).
They have prepared the brochure to provide a clear explanation to parishioners of the dangers of euthanasia.
Euthanasia is an issue that is constantly being raised in the media and in parliaments around Australia, so the Bishops wanted to detail why lethal injections would be bad for the community.
People are encouraged to do three things with the pamphlet:
Display the pamphlet prominently in parishes, hospitals and aged care facilities;
Advertise the pamphlet in newsletters or on websites;
Hold a discussion night for interested people to discuss the information in the pamphlet and to talk through areas of agreement or disagreement.
Feel free to contact Ben Smith, Director of the Catholic Diocese of Parramatta’s Family & Life Office, on 02 8838 3440 if you would like some help in organising a discussion night.
There are three different formats of the pamphlet for free download at www.catholic.org.au/euthanasia
You will also be able to purchase printed copies of the pamphlet at www.catholic.org.au/shop
The pamphlet has been endorsed by the National Catholic Education Commission and Catholic Health Australia.
